COMM 223 - Introduction to Web Site Design and Construction

HTML Starter Page Code

All the basic HTML web pages we will be using in this course will require these parts.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>Your Website Name here</title>

<link href="style.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"> </head> <body> <header> <nav> <ul> <li>Your menu</li> </ul> </nav> </header> <main> Most content will go here. </main> <footer> <p>Copyright 2020, Your name</p> </footer> </body> </html>

Rememmber to put your page title in the Title tag. Put the name of your style sheet (CSS) in the stylesheet section. All your page's visible information must be in between the two "body" tags. Most of your content, besides the header and footer info, will go between the <main> tags.
